- Joins Crypto Climate Accord as Signatory
Co-founder and CEO Stefan Rust (ex.Bitcoin.com) of Sonic Capital, the sustainability-backed platform, has been invited to join Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) as a Fellow in the Emissions Management & Trading Council under the BCI Fellowship Scheme. At the same time, Sonic Capital has joined the Crypto Climate Accord (CCA) as a Signatory. After launching CryptoSphe.re, Sonic.capital continues to push forward its regenerative efforts.
CryptoSphe.re was created drive the development of impact investment in relevant blockchain ecosystems through focusing on ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria and by using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework.
The mission of BCI is to effect positive change by raising awareness among the international climate change policy community of the tremendous potential of blockchain and other emerging technology to considerably enhance state and non-state climate actions through targeted technological interventions.

The CCA is inspired by the Paris Climate Agreement. The CCA is a private sector-led initiative for the entire crypto community focused on decarbonizing the cryptocurrency industry in record time.
The Crypto Climate Accord’s objective is to decarbonize the global crypto industry by prioritizing climate stewardship and supporting the entire crypto industry’s transition to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
“Anybody can join the Crypto Climate Accord as a Supporter — this represents a public commitment to the mission of the Accord and enables groups to join discussions around the planning, building, and testing of new solutions — but we opted to go to the next level as a Signatory, wherein we commit to decarbonizing operations by 2030 using best industry practices.
