Historic Crypto Transfer for Olympic Champion
Oleksandr Khyzhniak, the middleweight boxing champion at the Paris Olympics, visited Oleksandr Usyk’s training camp in Spain, where he received the promised reward for his Olympic championship equivalent to $100,000. The funds were transferred to a personal card issued by Ready To Pay, a payment service created by Usyk's team. This is the first instance of an Olympic championship reward being transferred in cryptocurrency using Web3 technologies.
Earlier, just before the Olympics in Paris, Usyk pledged to give cash rewards to Ukrainian boxers who won medals. Khyzhniak was the only one to make it to the podium.
Ready to Pay (RTPay) is the first free Telegram crypto card. Launched officially on November 6 in partnership with Kauri Finance, the service attracted over 50,000 users during its beta testing.
RTPay is a part of the Ready To Fight online platform (RTF) created by Oleksandr Usyk, the world heavyweight boxing champion, and his team director, Sergey Lapin. By harnessing the potential of web3 technology, the platform provides a decentralised, open and secure ecosystem where boxers and fans can seamlessly interact. RTPay aims to drive the mass adoption of crypto amongst nearly 5 million boxers and fans worldwide.
